Tim Goodrich was elected to the City Council on June 3, 2014. Since then, he has strongly advocated for public safety, better roads, effective government, sustainability, and increased oversight, accountability, and safety at the refinery.
He currently serves as Chair of the Strategic Plan Committee and as a member of the Community Planning and Design Committee and the Finance and Governmental Operations Committee. He is also a member of the Special State Legislative Advocacy Committee and in 2017, he served as Chair of the Armed Forces Day Committee.
Before his election to the City Council, Tim Goodrich actively volunteered in the community, serving as a member of the Torrance Unified School District Citizen Bond Oversight Committee and as a board member of the Torrance Education Foundation, the Torrance Sister City Association, and the El Camino Parkview Homeowners Association, where he founded a neighborhood watch. Tim also volunteered with the Torrance Police Department and the Torrance Fire Department.
Prior to his community involvement, Tim served in the United States Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge after an enlistment that included three deployments to the Middle East. After completing his time in the military, Tim pursued education, earning his bachelors in business administration, followed by a master's in public administration and a certificate in political management from the University of Southern California.
